Kyle & Matilda

Church Planters - Munich Germany

Kyle & Matilda met in Albania and were married on September 5th 1993. They have had the rare privilege and joy of being an inseparable team, serving together in Albania as missionaries/church-planters. Their vision was to plant the gospel among the government leaders and their families, impacting the direction of this nation as it emerged from communism. The Lord gave them favor from day one, as the Albanian government opened doors of opportunity to impact the development of the Judicial system/Supreme Court, Police Academy/Force, and Parliament as they drafted their Bill of Rights and other laws.

Through these relationships the Holy Spirit began to reveal the love of Jesus, drawing many unto Himself. Bible studies emerged in homes, growing and becoming a part of the church that, today, is continually reproducing itself throughout Albania and the Balkans.

Matilda was born and raised in Albania, has a deep love and passion for people, and is a gifted consultant. She has a diploma from the Krieble Institute in Governmental Processes and Business Development in Emerging Democracies, and served as the Executive Assistant to the President of the Albanian Development Council. On Easter morning of 1992 Matilda asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior.

She is a self-taught gourmet chef and she loves to entertain, she’s a diehard Fußball (soccer) fan, and is gifted with languages. Her first language is Albanian, she is fluent in English, and speaks some Italian and Greek. She has a heart for children and has been involved in the leadership of children’s ministry in Albania and in the USA. Matilda also enjoys being involved in the leadership of women’s ministry groups, and has frequently been a guest speaker at women’s and community events.

Kyle is from southern Minnesota, served 4 years in the Air Force stationed in Germany, and has a degree in Missiology. During the summer of 1982, Kyle was on a short-term mission trip with Slavic Gospel Association smuggling Bibles and Christian literature into Eastern Europe. On August 4th, while trying to enter Yugoslavia, Kyle was arrested for transporting Bibles and was detained overnight. That evening the Lord spoke to him clearly, calling him to fulltime ministry in Europe, with Albania as the initial country of focus. Kyle has served as Pastor of Student Ministries in downtown Minneapolis, as a corporate executive in the newspaper industry, and was the Founder and President of The World Development Council.Kyle & Matilda met in Albania and were married on September 5th 1993.
